  1. with a set of the Suntac
  2. motherboard docs would tell me the jumper numbers for the turbo and
  3. turbo LED.  I've configured four or five different AT motherboards in
  4. the past few months, and the Suntac is the only one not clearly marked
  5. and which hasn't been amenable to my fiddling so far.

  23. -> Advice:  You are confused.  XT's do not run at 31.1Mhz (if yours
  24. -> does, I'll buy it!! <grin>).  To reach 31.1Mhz (with current
  25. -> technology) you need a 386 or 486...XT processors (8088, 8086) only
  26. -> go up to about 10 MHz, while the fastest 80286's are 20Mhz, 80386's
  27. -> 33Mhz, and the latest 80486's hit around 50 Mhz.

  29. He's confused, and so are the marketing persons responsible for this bit
  30. of drelch.....  I believe the "286-XT" systems they sell use a 12.5MHz
  31. 80286 (cheap as dirt these days) in a slightly souped up architecture.
  32. It will actually run any AT software that only requires chip level
  33. functions, but not the services of an AT bus design (not lots, as it
  34. turns out).  Their claim of 31.1MHz is a 'landmark speed test' type bit
  35. of marketing fluff.  Next you'll see 486-33 manufacturers claiming
  36. 150MHz 386's?  :>

  73. Hi Carl, in responce to your querry, The Card was sold. As far as using
  74. it with Qram, NO that requires EEMS or LIM 4.0 or higher. The Maxi-Magic
  75. card is LIM 3.2, it did not support Extra page mapping that Qram uses as
  76. high ram (not to be confused with XMS).
  77. I hope this helps you in finding a card that will be of use to you.
  78. Oh yea, it is also helpfull if your MotherBoard has Shadow BIOS
  79. capability as QRAM will use this also.
